The past couple of weeks has seen just about every type of "ugly weather" November has to offer the north coast of Oregon. To say that it's been wet would be an understatement. I was however a bit taken back to learn that my rain gauge has measured just over fifteen inches of precipitation during the month. Yikes, now wonder the basement sump pumps where doing their magic last Tuesday!Sunday afternoon we had a brief respite from the storms so I took a quick trip to my favorite part of the beach. The light that preceded the storm was sweet; within two minutes of clicking the shutter I was jogging back to the truck in a cold driving rain. It was fun while it lasted!

Terrific mood captured here. The play of light on the beach and the waves contrasting with the dark clouds make for a great view—especially from my dry vantage point
Thanks Anita. I sometimes long for a drier environment but after two weeks without rain and I begin to miss it!
While I know from my own eyes the area is beautiful, I believe that's a bit too much rain for me. ;-)

I disagree with Earl, that is not a bit too much rain, that is waaaaay toooo much rain! :-) Almost more than I can imagine. I chuckle as I think about my dads reports from Phoenix when he tells me they got .1 inch during the night. But the up side of the rain is the green landscape. I love the green for nature scenes. As photographers we must approach our passion differently, protecting our equipment.
15 inches of rain! Ummm, that's a tad much for me, in less than one month, no less. Do you have starter-gills? :-)
Well, Steve, you know what they say: Bad weather makes for great photographs. That light is lovely.
Earl, it has been wet this month but we had a very dry summer and early fall.
Shelby, it always amazes me how calm it can be just before the skies pour forth.
Monty, I visited Arizona in November several years ago and after five days of perpetual sunshine I found myself becoming a little nervous!
No gills Paul but I own lots of foul weather gear. I also agree that nasty weather makes for very interesting photo opportunities if you are willing to hang in there.
