The signs of fall are everywhere these days from the chill of the night air to the decline of the flowers in our garden. The other day I noticed this “late bloomer” among the rapidly fading Black Eyed Susans. The bright yellow petals just glowed in the morning sun. It was nice while it lasted because today the weather forecast calls for rain.

I like having late bloomers.
Monte, so do I!
Nice shot. I wish we could get some of that rain.
Travis, I wish we could send you some as your summer has been a hot and dry one.
So pretty. We've finally turned the furnace on and stoved up the wood stove here. No late bloomers left for me to admit - so I'll admire yours!
Deanna, it won't be long before we fire up the heating system too.
I'm a late bloomer myself.
Nothing wrong with that Ralph.
Black-eyed Susans are such cheerful flowers. They feel like sunshine and wide smiles. I love this photo.
Steve, that most certainly is a late bloomer. All of them around Charlotte are finished for the season. :)
Paul, the predictions are for a wet winter in these parts so the longer the late bloomers hold out the happier I'll be.
Anita, thanks!
Steve, well at least you'll have this beautiful and bright photo to look at if it does turn out to be a wet winter...is there any other kind in Oregon? :-)
As a rule, not very often.
today my hanging begonias and the fuchsia were still blooming. Nov 1~ can't complain!
Pamela, no frost yet?
WHAT a gorgeous photo! :)
cheers, friend.. thanks for the bloggy visit yesterday. Seems I have been out of circulation a while.. hope your weekend is grand.
