Saturday Afternoon Sky Watch

IMG_4880

This picture taken from my living room window pretty much sums up the state of the weather in Astoria today, confusing.  The National Weather Service is predicting snow but today has seen very little action to that end.  One minute the sun was in full view then twenty minutes later it was completely obscured by dark and very threatening clouds.

Snow is not unheard of in these parts but the receipt of a significant amount is a pretty rare event.  Lets just say that it’s more likely that your neighbor’s kids will own a boat than a flexible flyer sled.

Just to be on the safe side, I will make a trip to the basement before turning in this evening to be sure that my snow shovel is ready for action.

The confusion of wires is an interesting comment on confused weather. I am always amused at weather forecasters. They are so often wrong, but never appear discouraged regardless of how often their prediction don't pan out. They just keep putting up those forecasts. Maybe there is a life lesson here.

Sometimes I'm a bit slow.... I had to look at the picture twice before I figured out what the wires had to do with the post. My family refers to that as my "blonde moments".

It is a given that you will get no snow now that you got that snow shovel ready.

It "flaked" on us briefly this morning. I kind of miss having the white stuff, but winter isn't over.

I guess you have to live in a pacific coastal town to hear someone say that the snow shovel is in the basement, **

Anita, the weather guy got it right this time; no exactly the storm of the century as we only received about an inch.

Deanna, I have blond moments too and my hair or shall we say what's left of it is gray!

Pamela, I would have thought that you folks would have received more than a few flakes. Maybe later on this week.

Well, we don't get much snow in these parts either, but when we do, it's a big event, even if it is 1/4 of an inch! LOL - I don't own a snow shovel, though.

Yes Paul, I am especially happy that it doesn't happen very often.

Arriving here late I kinda know how this "story" plays out...not so good for you guys. Lots of rain and snow from what I hear. Hope you're okay.

Earl, all is well and let's just say that the well won't likely run dry this summer.
